About Disaster Relief

Florida Baptist Disaster Relief creates an opportunity for you and your church to “make a difference” in times of need where people and communities impacted by disaster are responded to with Help, Healing, and Hope, through the love of Christ.

Is Disaster Relief Just Manual Labor?

Not at all. Disaster Relief has eight ministry areas including feeding ministry, clean-up & recovery, chaplaincy, temporary childcare, on-site management, administration, logistics, and communications & technology.

Why Training?

Disaster Relief Training is a way for you and your church to be prepared to help others in their most desperate hour. The training will vary from how to make food in bulk, to learning about chaplaincy, to learning what technology DR uses in time of need, to learning how to work a chainsaw and remove fallen trees. Training ensures volunteers are properly educated on what to expect as they go out to minister to disaster survivors.

Wanting to Get Connected?

For more information contact Matthew Gille, associate pastor of discipleship & missions, at matthew@cfbcstuart.com.

What's the Cost?

The normal cost of the Disaster Relief Training is $10. Covenant Fellowship and the Treasure Coast Baptist Association have agreed to pay for the first 100 people who register for the training. To have your $10 waived, please be one of the first 100 people to register via our registration portal (see link below). To be certified you will also need to pay for a background check, which you can learn more about at the training.

When and Where?

Join us on March 18, 2023 for the Region 5 Training hosted by Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church (2880 SE Aster Lane Stuart, FL 34994).

Will There be Lunch?

Yes, lunch is prepared and served by the volunteers of the Disaster Relief Feeding Ministry. There is no extra cost for lunch.
